GOD'S SUDDENLIES
By Pastor John Kilpatrick
Not long ago, as I was preparing to preach in a
church up north. I felt the Lord impress upon me these words.
"What I am about to do, I am going to do suddenly."
When I heard this, I thought of judgment; but immediately
thereafter I thought of breakthrough. I believe that God is
moving the church into a season of suddenlies. He wants to get us
prepared for this special season. I believe God is going to move
in quick, rapid, sudden activity in regard to the promises of His
word.
There are things that He has spoken to your
soul and dreams He has put in your heart that you have not seen
come to fruition. There are things that you know are in the will
of God but you can't understand why they
haven't come to pass yet. God says," For he will finish the
work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work
will the Lord make upon the earth." Romans 9:28.
He is going to do it quicker than you thought.
This means that He is not going to do it by your ingenuity or
by your works but rather by His righteousness. Some of you have
gone through struggles, fought battles, stood toe to toe and nose
to nose with strong demons for many years. You have been battling,
yet you are still
holding on to the promises of God. It has been a long night and a
weary journey. You are so burdened and so belabored that you have
lost the expectancy that our God can move swiftly and suddenly.
You have asked
God, "How long must I wait until the answer comes?"
GOD IS ABOUT TO RISE UP!
Don't lose courage and don't lose hope because
God is about to rise up and do a fast and speedy, sudden
thing! He is the author and finisher of your faith. What God has
started in you, He will finish. Jesus is in an
intercessory posture at the right hand of God just for us. God is
still on the throne! Don't lay your hand to the promises of God
and try to force what God has told you.
There are some things God has promised that he wants to let lie dormant in your life. Proverbs 13:12 says, Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh it is a tree of life." The heart becomes when it says, " I thought I had a promise from God. I thought I had a word from God." As time goes by, your heart begins to grow weary and get sick and it causes anxiety to set in. Your spiritual pulse increases so that you can foster some kind of energy to try and bring it about the expectations of your soul on your own. Please be careful because all that leads to is more problems like it did with Abraham and Sarah. You need to wait on God to bring it forth in righteousness. Isaiah chapter 10, God delights in reminding us of four things that He did quickly.
FOUR THINGS DONE QUICKLY
These four things have a tremendous influence
and impact on our lives today because we go through the
same things. (1) Isaiah 10:23 says, " For the Lord of Hosts
shall make a consumption, even determined in
the midst of all the land." Verse 26 says," And the
Lord of Hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the
slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb..." Midian, at the
rock of Oreb, is the story of Gideon. The Israelites were
oppressed by the Midianites for seven years. Every year at
harvest, the Midianites would gather by the thousands, come down
and scatter Israel to the mountains and steal their harvest.
Where was Israel's blessing after all the long hard work?
It seemed that Israel's blessings were being
aborted. "Aborted blessings" are blessings that have
been sabotaged by Satan. So many people in America have labored
long and hard for the harvest but are driven back to the
mountains by the enemy who comes in and reaps their harvest.
Indeed, God is going to let us reap our dreams. In conjunction
with the realization of your vision and fulfill your call without
it destroying you.
CAN'T REMEMBER WHEN YOU WERE LAST FREE?
(2) "As His rod was upon the Red Sea, so
shall He lift it up after the manner of Egypt." Isaiah
sick 10:26. When Moses got to the Red Sea, he had a people with
him that could not remember when they
were not in bondage. Israel was a nation of
slaves. They had never handled weapons or fought in battle. They
were not skilled in archery nor had they handled a spear or
wielded a knife. They were slaves. Yet, after their
deliverance, they became some of the most skilled soldiers in the
world. I am waiting to see what God can do with the church when
it gets totally free from the world and it's bondage. The Lord
says, "There are so many
people in my house that I have saved and cleansed from their sins,
but they cannot remember a day when they have truly been free."
TWO AND A HALF MILLION PEOPLE SAW SUDDEN
VICTORY
When Moses lifted his rod over the Red Sea 2 1/2
million people who had never known anything but bondage saw
victory for the first time in their lives. Many of you love the
Lord and respect Jesus and don't want to go to hell, but you have
never experienced freedom. I tell you, God is about to do a
powerful, sudden
thing in America. A nation of slaves is going to say, 'Glory to
God! Our victory has come."
(3) Isaiah 28:21 says," For the Lord shall
rise up as in Mount Perazim..." David had just been anointed
king
of Israel. He was finally in the position that God had for him
when the Philistines came to seek him out. God is saying, "When
I begin to fulfill something powerful in your life, something
that you have been believing me for years, it will always be
tested by an adversarial act."
Hell is not going to sit by and let you come
into what God has for you without a fight. Perazim means, "
a
rapid breakthrough". It means that God reverses the natural
order of things as He did with Jacob and Esau.
It is a divine reversal in order that you may be blessed.
GOD'S STRANGE ACTS
4) " He shall be wroth as in the valley of
Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to
pass his act, his strange act" Isaiah 28:21. I believe it is
time for strange things to occur. It is not time for the
predictable. At Gibeon, there was a man by the name of Joshua who
had made a commitment to be a
defender of the people of Gibeon. He got into a battle with the
enemy and was outnumbered. Joshua began to overcome the enemy but
the sun started to go down.
The Bible says that Joshua called out to the
sun ( that is strange) and commanded it, " Sun be still!"
I believe that God longs to see us obtain the victory so much
that He is willing to go to any extent just for us to relish and
enjoy our victory. God has seen us defeated long enough. God is
telling you in no uncertain terms that He has not forgotten you!!!
He is going to visit you and fulfill what He said He was going to
do in you life. In days to come, the Holy Spirit is going to
revive in your heart the things He has promised you. A spirit of
expectancy is going to come over you. The Bible said, 'Believe
the prophets, so shall ye prosper" 2 Chronicles 20:20. God
is going to come back and revisit you. Believe that word and let
God resurrect some things in your life that He promised you.
He is already bringing some things to your mind
that He promised you a long time ago. Don't give up too quickly.
God is about to move in a mighty way. The church age started
suddenly in Acts chapter 2 and the church age will end suddenly
with the catching away of the saints(1 Thessalonians 4) If God
starts the church age suddenly and ends it suddenly, doesn't it
make sense that He wants to do some suddenlies in the meantime? I
strongly believe that the greatest days of the church age are
right before us. EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED!!!!!
